Fall is a season I love because of the weather, but also because it’s our high season at work. We attend trade shows, print at a much higher volume, and get to meet so many new people! Before I knew I would be out of town for a few weekends, I decided to make time to carve pumpkins. Last year we decided to do this and I was the one who ended up taking out all the seeds because they were too “yucky.”
This year, with two anxious older girls, I made it clear THEY were gutting the pumpkin—it was just part of it. Safe to say they loved every minute of it. Maggie took no part. She watched and was not tempted to even touch the pumpkin. Hah!
The afternoon was spent listening to our favorite album, The Essential Aretha Franklin, laughing, carving pumpkins, swinging, and just being girls. I pray we make this a habit every year and the girls remember these times when they are grown.
