Planning. Thinking ahead. Streamlining. All of these things are what I have been doing to the best of my ability for the past few months. The last three years have been full and constant in change and development and growth. Beginning in 2014, I suddenly left my full time job to make this side hustle a full time reality. In 2015, I created and launched LITTLE h CREATIVE while working out of our home and printing shirts in our garage. Then in 2016, we opened our first store front on 7th Street, grew immensely, had a baby girl, and started printing more adult shirts because of their sudden high demand. Now in 2017, we have purchased & renovated our current location, launched our very own apparel brand, expanded our products, and welcomed 15+ local artisan vendors into our store to sell their handmade one-of-a-kind products. All the while still printing custom orders for businesses, non-profits and events.

About two years ago into this entrepreneurial adventure, I started to seek out a word that would be the foundation of my goals for each new year. No long and lengthy new years resolutions, just one word that would sum up what I hoped for and what I could always fall back on in the times of feeling completely overwhelmed. I have found it easier to remember and hold on to one word than I can a phrase or unrealistic list-full resolution I set for myself. EMBRACE became my word for 2017 though I hadn’t chosen it at first, and I held it close to my heart through the months. I never forgot about it and it brought me hope and peace through a lot of late nights and really early mornings.

In 2017 we have been able to hire 3 people that are helping us create, streamline and focus on the big picture. My roles have changed and it has not been an easy transition but I have been learning to embrace the change that produces growth. I am having to once again shift my attention and focus on a much larger picture than I ever have before.

This new year is going to be amazing. Since so many opportunities were embraced in 2017, I see the steps and directions that we need to follow and how we will serve our clients and customers better. So...

My word for 2018 is FOCUS.

  • Focus on our brand.
  • Focus on our mission.
  • Focus on serving our customers better.
  • Focus on fine tuning the services we offer.
  • Focus on what we were created to do.
  • Focus on our friends & family who have been affected the most by this season of life which has caused us to become overwhelmed.

What is will your word be? What do you want to repeat everyday to help you reach the dream you are chasing?
