dance party
Isn't it crazy how many things can make a day go south, yet so little can cheer us up? Once I get it in my head that I am stressed or frustrated, it's easier to stay that way. But, I'm hurting everyone around me. An instant relief for our home is to have a spontaneous dance party. I L O V E to dance. Not pretty uniform dancing, but the rock-out-mom-hands-shake your-booty kind of dancing.
The majority of our dancing shenanigans happen in the car, but we also love a good living room showdown. We live outside of town and our commute is about 20-25 minutes depending on where we are going, most of which are spent singing at the top of our lungs and pushing the dancing limitations that a confined space, seatbelt, and car seat can bring.
I thought it would be fun to give you our dance party playlist. We LOVE music. We love to chill & listen, dance, sing, and rock out. It just depends on the mood.
OUR TOP 5 DANCE PARTY SONGS.
I have to mention that our kids don't know all of these songs, but they are ones I grew up listening to.
Whoop there it is by Tag Team
Can't stop the feeling by Justin Timberlake (Trolls)
Set it all free by Scarlett Johansson (Sing)
Groove is in the Heart by Deee-Lite
Fat Bottomed Girl by Queen
One thing I love about music are the memories they hold without you knowing it. We recently took a trip to Fredericksburg, Texas (6 hour trip) and at the end of our drive home, the kids were on edge. We flipped on 90's on 9 and without planning it, we began singing and dancing like we were teens again. The kids love watching me and Ryan act silly. Parenting is tricky. I believe if we don't show our kids how to have fun, be weird and shift a mindset, they won’t know how to do it in their adult years.
