A Letter to Our People

A Letter to Our People

At Ramble and Company, we believe that it takes intentionality, listening, empathy and humility to cultivate a safe world of love, friendship, and community. In light of recent events, we have been taking the time to listen and learn from black voices. As we continue to educate ourselves and discover new ways we can help and empower BIPOC, we want to share our overall heart on the matter.

We Believe:

In the celebration of diversity as it appears in the form of color, culture, language, or belief. We believe that each and every human has deep worth and beauty that is unique to themselves and that discrimination and injustice must be eradicated from our communities, our policies, and our own hearts. We believe that black lives matter. We believe that we must choose kindness, friendship, and love when we are otherwise prone to anger and hurt.

We Are Committed:

To doing the work. This means intentionally listening to and learning from BIPOC voices, leaning into their stories, and discovering how we can purge our own hearts of any racial bias or behavior that we may have learned. To creating space within our business that celebrates, supports, and promotes BIPOC artists and business owners. To stay the course for change, racial equality, and justice.

We Are Taking Action:

By standing together to fight against any form of discrimination or injustice as we see it in our world, our communities, and ourselves. By not shying away from conversations that challenge us and choosing to listen with our hearts. To support financially and with our presence, local organizations that build bridges to connect neighborhoods, organizations, businesses, as well as educational and governmental entities by promoting and celebrating artistic and cultural diversity through shared experiences.

Manifesto:

We love to love people. We love to gather around bonfires, pulling up extra chairs to our table, or making the drive to see old friends. We love hearing a chorus of laughter coming from a friend-filled living room, squishy baby thighs, and breaking out into spontaneous dance parties with our kids. We love the slow start of a day with a steaming cup of coffee as much as the feeling of satisfaction after a hard day’s work. We believe in balance; knowing when to speed up and when to pump the brakes. We believe in the wondrous power of paint and a good color palette. We believe that anything old can be made new if you work hard and that perfection doesn’t exist, only perfect moments.

We believe in celebrating and respecting diversity as it appears in the form of color, culture, language, or belief. We believe that each and every human has deep worth and beauty that is unique to themselves and we actively fight to stand against any form of discrimination that would say otherwise. We seek to value each individual as they are by creating space to listen and learn from what is different than our own experience, knowing that when we put forth the work and humbly respond to humanity, differences can unite us rather than cause a divide.

We believe that when women are for one another, worlds can change and where sincere friendship exists, insecurity and loneliness cannot survive. We delight in raising our babies to be kind, adventurous, hilarious, and brave people. And we believe in setting the example by saying “sorry” and choosing joy whatever our circumstances may be.

We believe true community exists when we allow our stories to be woven together like a tapestry of belonging that covers us wherever we go. We believe that being connected to our own stories equips us to play a unique role in our community. We believe there is power and healing when we stop talking and listen to one another. We believe in the value of presence. We believe in learning from our mistakes and never settling for less than what we are capable of accomplishing.
